artist's statement:
I am a painter of the darkness for a drop of good. Irretrievably, I immersed into the darkest corners of spiritual destructiveness of a human being in hope to describe it— to stay for a while. The humbleness of those who suffer captured my sensibility.

I resist not, I seek for the way out. My images tried to be a message, no one replied. Now, they are just a scream—and I am not sure anyone can hear it.

about the artist
Mirko Sevicwas born on the 24th of April, 1954 in Velika Kladuša, Bosnia and Hercegovina.

He became fond of art when as a ten year old boy he was prized with a five -day visit by two famous artists; Krsto hegedusic and Ivan Generalic. Sevic postponed a career in art to complete law school. After doing so , he gradually began to develop his unique style of expression as an artist.

In 1989 he began preperations to share his work with an audience.

Now living in ex-Yugoslavia—haunted by the cruelties of war—he strives to send the message that we have lost that which seperates man from beast. Each of his works is a warning to consider the good of humanity or suffer the results of our actions.
