artist's statement:
My paintings, which represent a surrealistic world, propose different possibilities of vision, from simple interpretations to the use of symbols
My work is not meant to give the viewer immediate understanding, because I love that people linger as long as they possibly can to observe the painting as if they are solving a puzzle.
My main subjects are the steam-mechanical creatures, especially the birds, not only for the symbolic significance which many cultures have given to certain species...but they're also simply amazing! (They can
fly and this is no little thing!)
I try to mix artificial aspects and nature in a multi-dimensional landscape surrounded by a dreamlike and slight disturbing atmosphere.
I also try to draw out something unconscious from within ourselves, such as the fear of what we do not know or what we believe that we do know well.
